Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I like franks because it's close, they're open late and relatively cheap...however their consistency is poor & service could be hit or miss. Good if you're looking for someone to deliver late though.

I came here again because recently there was a write-up in the paper about the new chef that came from Europe and took over, creating a new menu with authentic recipes. I didn't see it. Maybe they are still waiting on it. But as for now, it's still a middle of the road hoagie/ pizza/ pasta/ fried foods restaurant. As a matter of fact, most of the appetizers are unhealthy fried foods. I wish they had more healthy Italian dishes and less of hoagies and jalapeño poppers. But I guess they are trying to cater to different crowds. I opted for the salmon special of the day, which seemed to be the only thing available without pasta/ carbs. It was ok, but nothing great. I was hoping it would have had more veggies and no rice (which it came with but I wasn't expecting). The prices are good for an Italian-American restaurant. On the plus side, the whole staff was very welcoming and we couldn't have asked for a friendlier server.

Been to Franks twice and 2 times I get home and find out my order is wrong. Fool me twice... no peppers means no peppers. No mushrooms means no mushrooms. Its not rocket science. I'll take me business elsewhere.

Best NY slice in WB. New location is much better than the last. Great soups, pizza. Sandwiches, hoagies are great. Good meats and fantastic bread. Never are in, always took it to go.

By far bad, food decent, but customer service very bad. I ordered 3 orders of Garlic Knots, and ordered 1 full cup of marina sauce and never got it... Called back to get my marina sauce, they demanded we return some other item (Soup item) that THEY packed into our order by mistake! But get this, we ordered and PAID for that 8 ounce soup and refused to send the marina sauce until we paid for the soup. We asked to speak to the owner and it was the same person... "Franks" is not a person named "Frank" who owns it... apparently its some other person just slapped the name "Franks" up...

I really like the pizza here. The crust is always perfect and the flavor is consistent. Haven't been as impressed with other menu items. The service is very friendly.

Frank's is probably the best pizza in down town Wilkes-Barre. The crust is superb, the sauce to cheese ration is perfect. The new location is close to my office so I often pop in to grab a slice for lunch. They have a large menu with a variety of pizza's, subs, and dinners. Something for everyone. Service is quick and they are always busy.

We used to like the pizza at the former Frank's location. We just had pizza delivered from the new location and it was clearly reheated several times. Black on the bottom and dried out. Disgusting. On a Lenten Friday where they should have high volume? Embarrassing.

I work close by and every weekend we order from Franks. Everything from there loaded fries to there Chicken wing Stromboli is always delicious.

Stopped by this pizza shop on my way home with my family. The food is amazing, the service is on point and hospitality is fenominal. I would recommend this place to anyone. Will be back. Great job Franks pizza

Decent enough pizza but you can get that anywhere. I'm more partial to the hot subs. Chicken parm and cheese steaks are quite good in a comforting, old-style pizza parlor way. I usually call ahead and pick up my order so I can't vouch for delivery but I have never had a problem. Service is fine.

Ok food, rude employees, food selection is pretty good but not that tasty, delivery items are wrong half the time and then they get an attitude when you call about it.

Well, since my last review I've been here a few times - even ordered a fresh pie - which is my way of knowing what the quality truly is because, I'm sorry, a reheated slice is never a good indicator of tasty pizza. Even with a pizza right out of the oven, I really wasn't impressed. I'd still consider going if I was in a rush and wanted a quick slice, but I don't think I'll will go out of my way to order another pie again.

I consider myself a pizza enthusiast. One of the cleanest and best Italian restaurants in Wilkes-Barre. A very good NY style hand tossed and moderately priced. There's always a good selection of food here. Thumbs up in my book!

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They have horrible customer service and steal money from customers.

Frank's is a welcome addition to downtown Wilkes-Barre. I remember their previous location being rather small and nondescript. Boy, how they have improved since then! The restaurant is beautiful and boasts a great ambience. I've never had a bad meal. Everything is great, from authentic Italian meals like their lasagna or chicken parm, to the delicious salads, to their pizza pies - the chicken wing pizza is especially tasty. Highly recommended.
